Tribute to letter writer was touching
Letter to the Editor
Thursday, September 04, 2008

I would like to compliment your editorial staff for the wonderful tribute to letter writer Andy Chandler in the newspaper recently ("Now this is a writer," Aug. 28).

Your picture of Mr. Chandler's penmanship style brought back fond memories of my school years, when I was blessed with fine teachers who had similar writing styles. I have two friends with similar styles, but, sad to say, I was never able to exhibit such penmanship.

Your editorial about Mr. Chandler is what sets your paper apart from so many others. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Carl Langley, Aiken, S.C.
