AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Grady Wyman Thomas, 82, beloved husband of Bertha Drake Thomas, entered into rest on Saturday August 23, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Platt's Funeral Home Crawford Ave. Chapel with Rev. Robert Bowman and Rev. Bill Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Grady served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. In 1992, Grady retired from SRS after 42 years of employment. He was a member of Lake Park Baptist Church. Grady was known for his generosity and love for everyone. His memory will be cherished by many. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three brothers, George Thomas and wife Vicky of Charleston, S.C., Eugene Thomas of Fairfax, S.C., Raymond Thomas and wife Joyce of Fairfax, S.C.; nephews, William Thomas II of Fairfax, S.C., Frankie Thomas of Augusta, Larry Barnes of Hampton, S.C., Lavane Barnes of Beaufort, S.C.; nieces, Patricia Kinard of Fairfax, S.C., Paula Nelson of Kuwait; and several other beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
