AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. James Raymond 'Pops' Gillum, age 74, entered into rest on Friday, August 22, 2008 at University Hospital. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Cockrell officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cheryl Kimbrel Gillum, one sister, Hazel Ward of Lebanon, OH, One step-son, Greg James and his wife Amy of Harlem, three grandchildren, Scott D. Gillum, Rev. Steve D. Gillum and his wife Emily, and Melissa J. Gillum. and one step- grandson, Carden James. One son, the late David L. Gillum, one daughter in law, JoAnne Gillum. James served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of WW II. He retired from the Civil Service as a mechanic. He attended Grove First Baptist Church.
