THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Charles C. Odum, 66, Beloved husband of Mrs. Frances Odum, of Reese Road, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, August 22, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Tatum and Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Mr. Odum was a native of Richmond County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a retired Iron Worker with Local #709. He was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond 'Fats' Odum Jr., and Walter Odum. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Odum, Thomson; three daughters, Cheryl Moll, and Carol Lee Bailey, both of Thomson and Michelle Perdue, Augusta; three sons, Charles William Odum, Thomson, Scott Mills, Augusta and Junior Suggs, McCormick, S.C.; two brothers, William Roy (Sherry) Odum, Jackson, Tn., and Harry (Tommie) Odum, Augusta; 15 grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Roma Odum, Dearing; and his mother-in-law, Margaret Smith, Augusta. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights at the funeral home.
