EVANS, Ga. - Matthew Harry Bero, 21, entered into rest Saturday, August 16, 2008 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, the funeral procession will leave the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Memorial services will follow at 3:30 PM at Westside Baptist Church with Pastors Robert Lehn and David Beck officiating. Matthew was a 2007 graduate of Greenbrier High School and worked for Georgia TASC. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and truly enjoyed Sunday School and The Awana Program. Matthew participated in Special Olympics competing in golf, basketball, soccer and running. He so loved the Special Olympics that he participated in fundraising and organizational activities. He was well known for praying for those he cared about and he had a phenomenal memory. His family remembers his love of travel, camping and riding roller coasters. He leaves many friends to cherish his memory. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Sandie Bero; his twin brother, James Bero; all of Evans: his sister, Beth (Matt) Blackwell, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; maternal grandparents, Al and Shirley Reeves, Port Angeles, Washington and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Lorraine Bero of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Memorial contributions may be made to Georgia Special Olympics.
