MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Holton Karr Ferris II, 53, entered into rest on Friday, August 15, 2008 at his residence. Graveside memorial services and interment will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11:00 am, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Reverend Robert M. Watkins officiating. Karr was a native of Augusta and lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BA, in Political Science. He was a former employee of Ruetgers-Nease Corporation, now Rutgers Organics. Karr was a member of the Presbyterian faith and an avid boater, hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Holton Karr Ferris and Mary Grace Price Ferris. Survivors include; three sisters, Lucyle G. Ferris, of Augusta, Kay Coursey and husband, Mark, of Beech Island, SC and Gwen Ewing and husband, Mike, of Christiansburg, VA, one brother, Vernon S. Ferris II and wife, Ginger, of Evans, GA, one niece, Amy Ferris, of North Augusta, SC, three nephews, Tracy Ferris, of Martinez, Ronald Coursey and Marshall Coursey, both of Beech Island, SC and one great niece, Ashlyn Ferris. No visitation is scheduled at the Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, following the services, at the graveside. Everyone is asked to meet at Hillcrest Memorial Park, on Tuesday.
