MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mrs. Ruth Arndt Beardsley, loving mother, grandmother and sister, entered into rest Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the Willows in Martinez. She was 83. A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 217 Second St., SE, Cullman, AL this Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. Ruth was born and raised in Cullman, AL attending Sacred Heart School. She worked as a secretary for the Sandia Corp., U.S. Dept., of Energy, in Albuquerque, NM and upon retirement in 1990 returned to Cullman. After returning to Cullman Ruth was a part time employee of Merchants Bank. She was preceded in death by her son, Grady Zellner; and her brothers, Joseph, Harry and Louis Arndt, sisters, Catherine Arndt, Esther Windsor and Mary Mauter. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Clara Ruth and Robert W. Claussen of Evans, GA; granddaughter, Melissa Magann of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Wesley Starling of Sarasota, FL; brother, James Arndt of Somerville, AL; and sister, Theresa Barnett of Hollywood, FL.
