HARLEM, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. Fred Long, 76, of Harlem, will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Simonia Baptist Church, Appling, with the Rev. L.J. Tanksley officiating. Interment: churchyard cemetery. Survivors: 1 daughter, Emily Leverette (Calvin Garnett), Appling; 2 sons, Melvin (Tanga) Gibson and Fred Jones, all of Harlem; 2 stepdaughters, Henrietta (Ernest) Lee and Lucy Dorsey, all of Harlem; a half-sister, Mary Benning, Thomson;6 sisters-in-law; 6 brothers-in- law; 8 grandchildren; 1 step-granddaughter; 3 great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
