AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, August 12, 2008, Mrs. Alzora Kelly Philpot, 93, last child born to the late Percy and Irene Dixon Kelly, passed quietly in her sleep at her daughter's residence. Mrs. Philpot was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr. Sam Davis is pastor. She was a member of the Senior Missionary Society. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. from Beulah Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sam Davis officiating. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Philpot was preceded in death by her husband, James Roman Philpot, Sr.; four children, James, Jr., Theodore, Herbert, and Patricia; siblings, Percy, Jr., Nathaniel, Leroy, Sr., Marion, Ross, Ted, Irene, and Alma. Survivors are a loving and devoted daughter, Virginia Philpot- Williamson; ten grandchildren, Regina, Rhonda, (a special granddaughter, Vonteice), Techelle, Tiesha, Herbert, Jr., Anthony, III, (a devoted grandson and caregiver, Daniel, Jr.), Courtney, and Terrell; eight great-grandchildren, Rodney, Jessie, Gin, Aiyla, Anthony, IV, Courtney, Jr., Cayla, and Julius; one great-great-grandson, Caiden; one sister-in-law, Isbelle Kelly; nieces, Altamese and a special niece, Regina; one nephew, Leroy, Jr.; one great nephew, Kelly; niece- in-law, Jean Aaron; and Dorothy, Shoronda, Percious, and Linda, who adopted her as their aunt; and a host of relatives and friends.
