Schafer cards 66 to win junior amateur
Cody Schafer 's tournament-best round of 66 on Sunday helped him to a six-shot win in the boys 14-15 division of the Augusta City Junior Championship.
Schafer finished at 9-under 135. Matt NeSmith (68) was second at 3-under.
In the boys 16-18 division, Jacob Tilton emerged from a three-way tie after Round 1, shooting 72 to finish at 1-under 143. He edged Chase Parker (73) by one stroke.
Greyson Sigg (69-75--144) in boys 12-13; Carter Mobley (38-35--73) in boys 10-11; McKenzie Talbert (72-75--147) in girls 18 holes; and Megan Sabol (46-45--91) in girls nine holes won their divisions.
- In Stockholm, Sweden, Amy Yang , of South Korea, spoiled Annika Sorenstam 's finale on home turf, tying the course record with 9-under-par 63 for a six-shot victory at the Scandinavian TPC.
Sorenstam, the tournament host, shot 72 and finished seven strokes back to tie for sixth.
- In Wichita, Kan., Scott Piercy won the Wichita Open for his first Nationwide Tour title, closing with even-par 71 for a two-stroke victory over Daniel Summerhays , Hunter Haas and Spencer Levin .
Piercy finished with a 22-under 264 total on the Crestview Country Club course.
- In Eugene, Ore., Duke star Amanda Blumenherst won the U.S. Women's Amateur, rallying to beat NCAA champion Azahara Munoz 2 and 1 in the 36-hole final at Eugene Country Club.

GreenJackets fail to complete sweep
In Greensboro, N.C., Augusta was held to a season-low two hits, as the GreenJackets failed to complete a sweep with a 3-0 loss to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday.
Starter Chance Corgan (3-5) suffered the loss, as Augusta was shut out for the 13th time this season.
Greensboro's Stuart Alexander (9-8) was perfect through 6Q innings before Nick Noonan 's one-out single in the seventh.
Augusta's eight-game home-stand begins tonight with the first of a four-game series against the Northern Division-leading West Virginia Power.

Gamecocks defeat top team in Slovakia
In Pezinok, Slovakia, the University of South Carolina's men's squad scored a 99-84 win over Pezinok Basketball Klub, the two-time defending national champion of Slovakia.
Mike Holmes led the way for South Carolina, scoring 27 points on 13-for-19 shooting.
It was the second of four games during the Gamecocks' series of overseas exhibitions.

UCLA quarterback Olson breaks foot
UCLA quarterback Ben Olson broke his foot and will be sidelined for at least two months.
Olson broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during practice on Saturday, and X-rays taken Sunday revealed the fracture.

Argentine teen tops Roddick for 3rd title
In Los Angeles, lanky teenager Juan Martin del Potro rolled to a 6-1, 7-6 (2) win over Andy Roddick in the Countrywide Classic to win his third title in less than a month.
Running his match victory string to 14 in a row, the 19-year-old Argentine broke Roddick's serve three times in the first set and did not allow a break in the match.

Death of motocross rider is investigated
In Stafford, Conn., Police are investigating the death of a 21-year-old motocross rider who died Saturday after crashing during practice at a racetrack.
Anthony Hart , of Henderson, Nev., the brother of motocross star Carey Hart , was critically injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit an outer track barricade at Stafford Motor Speedway, police said.
He died later Saturday at Hartford Hospital, where he had been taken by helicopter after the 3:30 p.m. crash.
