AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Rosa B. Gilbert of Old Savannah Rd. entered into rest Sunday, August 3, 2004. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Steven K. Bohler officiating. Burial will be in Rafting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Rembert, S.C. She was a native of Sumter County, S.C., and a Richmond County Retired School Teacher with 35 years of service. Survivors are husband, John W. Washington, Augusta, Ga.; one son, Johnny (Paulette) Gilbert, III, Sharpsburg, Ga.; two grandchildren, John Gilbert, IV, Kristen Gilbert, Sharpsburg, Ga.; three sisters, Magnolia (David) Nelson, Sumter, S.C., Marva Bennett, Betty (John) Aldrich, Rembert, S.C.; two sisters- in-law, Lessie Bennett, Plainfield, N.J., Iola Bennett, Rembert, S.C.; one uncle, Alfonso Alston, Landover, Md.; two aunts; a host of other relatives and friends.
