Wife charged in husband's injury
An Augusta woman remained in jail late Thursday after police charged her with injuring her husband's private parts during an argument.
Sharon McCall, 44, of the 2300 block of Sumac Drive, is charged with aggravated battery involving her husband, Willie McCall, 54.
Richmond County sheriff's Investigator Tim Rzasa said the couple were arguing in a bedroom about 4:45 p.m., when the woman grabbed her husband and tore away skin from his scrotum area.
A neighbor drove Mr. McCall to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, police said. No other details were available Thursday night concerning his condition.
Mr. McCall, accused of slapping his wife, will be charged with simple battery as well, Investigator Rzasa said.
Former postal worker pleads guilty
A former New Ellenton postal worker has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Columbia to theft of mail.
U.S. Attorney W. Walter Wilkins said in a news release that U.S. District Judge Margaret B. Seymour accepted the guilty plea from Denise Key, 43, on Wednesday.
Judge Seymour will impose a sentence after a pre-sentence report is prepared and reviewed.
From November 2006 through November 2007 Ms. Key, who worked at the New Ellenton post office as a mail clerk, opened mail and removed checks, money orders, cash and gift cards, the U.S. attorney's statement said.
After mail customers reported the loss of money, gift cards, greeting cards and the delivery of opened mail, Ms. Key was identified as the employee pilfering the mail during a sting operation conducted in November, the statement said. Mr. Wilkins said the maximum penalty Ms. Key can receive is a fine of $250,000 and imprisonment for five years.

Man is held in child sex case
A 41-year-old Augusta man was arrested Thursday on five counts of sexual exploitation of a child after the discovery of a CD showing images of children performing sex acts.
Jimmy Newton Scarborough, of the 3600 block of Deans Bridge Road, was being held at the Richmond County jail late Thursday.
According to a Sheriff's Office report, an employee at the Gordon Motel on Deans Bridge Road said she found the CD last week while going through things left in a room that had been used by a former employee. The disc, labeled "Jimmy's Pictures and Music," depicts young children performing sex acts on an unknown male, according to the report.
"For whatever reason, she decided to pop it in her player and it all went bad after that," sheriff's Lt. Scott Peebles said Thursday.
The employee told police Mr. Scarborough had repeatedly asked her if he could get into the room because he had left items inside. Mr. Scarborough's picture was on the CD, but it did not depict him performing sex acts, the report stated.

Wllie McCall hit his wife.... after a bit of tears and strife........Sharon mcCall got mad and silly and pull one over on old wille........... :)
Why do I never hear of women being charged when they hit men? It's only when they do something extreme like this. Assault is assault. If slapping is assault, then there are a lot of women getting over. Equal protection under the law............without regard to race, sex, religion...........blah blah blah! Maybe some day, but not yet.
Always remember to have domestic arguments with your pants on. Gosh, my stomach did a flip when I read that and coffee really can come out your nose.
ouch~~~~~
Kills, go on tour, you are a natural, bo!!!!
Wow that had to of hurt....:-)Equal protection should not be applied equally in men and women doing battle as a boy of 12 has more strength that most women...There is nothing equal about that...We really don't know the extent of what has been happening in that household. Until that is ascertained all I can clearly state is that "Wow that had to have hurt big time"...:-)
Equal protection doesn't mean all involved have equal intelligence. Men are naturally stronger than women. Women, therefore, should know better than to try to do battle with them. And what is equal about this...you slap me, I rip your **** off. BS. This woman should be charged with a felony assault.
Point made and I can understand it somewhat truthnlove but many times the male will seek to hush a woman up by slapping and or other aggressive tactics..When this happens the woman does not stand much of a chance at fending off the man...But the problem would be solved in most cases if men were to treat women as they would treat themselves...Life would be astoundingly better from many, many women who suffer from some form of abuse...This is a broad statement and does not seek to cover up the abuse some women are able to inflict up the men in their lives...
Sounds like he got caught with his pants down one too many times ..
At least she didn't have a knife a car and a grassy field for one eyed willie.
she should really be charged with felony mis-de-weiner
Assault is assault no matter who inflicts it, and men should receive equal protection. That's fair and just. Women still have the choice to leave, he has to sleep sometime doesn't he? Every case is different. Indeed if women would treat their husband's with respect, honor, and reverence and husband's treat their wives as they would treat themselves, it'd go a long way in making life better over all.
augustalawyer...you get the Oscar (meyer) for that ;o)
I don't know when the last time was that I have laughed this much. I finally know what ROFLMAO means. The story was slightly humorous, but the comments are top. You take the cake today. I never would have thought about coffee out of the nose, I hope it was iced and not Micky Dee's hot. I wonder if they pulled DNA from under her fingernails.
Was the slap before or after she tried to rip his 'grapes' off??? Someone should introduce Mrs. McCall to Mr. Scarborough...case closed!!
Ouch, that hurt!!! What was Willie up to? Cheating on ole girl and bragging to her face and she got mad and grabbed a ball. Keep it in your pant the next time you are in argument with your woman, especially, if you are not sharing it with her.
You sayin' that Mini Me is stronger than Zena, THE Warrior Princess? I beg to differ.
truthnlove, you need to go back and read the newspaper on how may men have dog their wife and sometime get a pat on the back. You are right we do have the choice to leave but leave with a smile. If the man hit you high, then hit him low.
Karma and auglaw, ROTFLMAO.
StrongWoman...How many women "dog" their husbands and get "pats on the back for it"? That doesn't make it right.
that's just nuts!
Now I believe that you should never hit a lady, until I read this. How in the hell do you charge him with assault after this lady, for lack of a better word, tried to de-ba-- him. He should be charged for NOT beheading her.
Sex draws police like a magnet. woman=drama. Pervert with the Cd of kids etc. I wish it had been your ba**s that got cut. Great comments karma and AugLaw. Couldn't have said 'em better myself.
Too much focus on sex...yeah... I know.
Should Monty Jones Jr. be sent a sympathy card now, or should everyone wait awhile? He's a brave man to take on the ungodly mess of the Coliseum!
His credentials do not mention any schooling in common sense.
Sounds like Ms. McCall had Willie by the balls. I am glad that I wasnt his neighbor. Can u imagine knocking on someones door with your scrotum in one hand and scrotum skin in the other. Thats deep!
It doesn't say if he slapped her before she tried to neuter him. The best thing to do is charge both let the judge sort out the he said she said.
hey PTHS! It happened on Sumac Drive! You oughtta be a fortune-teller!
There are just some bits of news that I do not care to read. Good grief!
