- Navy Fireman Recruit Clyde D. Dantignac , a 2006 graduate of Westside High School and son of Angie R. Dantignac, of Augusta, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
- Navy Reserve Seaman Chris E. White , a 2007 graduate of Hephzibah High School and son of Mercedes Ballard-White and Carl E. White, of Hephzibah, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
- Coast Guard Seaman Ryan C. Thomas , a 2002 graduate of Cross Creek High School and son of Tara R. and Clifford R. Thomas, of Hephzibah, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center, Cape May, N.J.
- Army Staff Sgt. Lanier Patterson , of Augusta, assigned to Company C, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, received a Combat Medical Badge for actions during combat operations in northern Iraq while flying in support of Task Force Iron, 1st Armored Division.
