HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Rubye Trowbridge Blanchard, wife of the late Billy F. Blanchard, entered into rest Tuesday, August 05, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2008, at Harlem United Methodist Church with the Dr. Thomas E. Drake and the Reverend Roger Vest officiating. Interment will be in Harlem Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Blanchard was born in Augusta, Ga. to the late Eugene and Louise Trowbridge. She was a resident of Harlem for 69 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Blanchard was an Alumni of the University of Georgia with a BA in History. She was a dedicated History teacher for 23 years. As a member of the Harlem United Methodist Church, she was an avid volunteer. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Paula and Joe Green, Harlem; two granddaughters Alison (Chad) Couch and Amanda Green. Pallbearers will be Don Allen, Mark Prosnak, Bobby Culpepper, Charles Gay, Robert Strength and Paul Strang, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Phil Turner, Jack Hatcher, Howard Callaway and Joe Jolley. Memorials may be made to the Harlem United Methodist Church, PO Box 39, Harlem, Georgia 30814, or to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
