AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Ruth N. 'Grandma Turkey' Taylor, 74, entered into rest on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Doctor's Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Sherrill Dunn officiating. Survivors include her sons, Tony 'Butch' Taylor of Johnston, SC and his wife Diane and William 'Buddy' Taylor of Augusta; daughter, Donna 'Lady' Horne and her husband William; brother, Thomas Brooks of Mount Holly, NC; sisters, Dorcas Fischer, Patsy Hoffman, Darlene Davis all of Hodges, SC and Jewel Knight of Ninety Six, SC; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Ms. Taylor was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Thomas and Entha Gumm Brooks and was the former owner of Ruth's Laundromat.
