SYLVANIA, Ga. - Mrs. Irene Lee Griner Daughtry, age 98, died Saturday night at the Screven County Hospital. The Screven County native was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Dwellie Griner and Josh W. Daughtry. Mrs. Daughtry is survived by a sister, Evelyn L. Cubbedge of Sylvania; nieces and nephews, Glenda C. Hedrick, Claudette B. Johnson, Annette B. Owens, Helen Stension, Dorothy Wainwright, Linda Hendricks, Sue Ann Cooley, and Wilbur Lee, Jr. Funeral services for Mrs. Daughtry will be Tuesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Don Scarborough officiating. Burial will be at Screven County Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Long, Marvin Norman, S.C. Parker, Wallace Taylor, Alton McBride, and Jimmy Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jean Howard Sunday School Class. Visitation at funeral home Monday, 6-8 p.m. In remembrances: Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 491, Sylvania, GA 30467.
