OMEGA, Ga. - Mr. Herbert Oliver "Jake" Isdell, Sr. died July 27, 2008 at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson with Rev. Joe Kearce, Jr. and Rev. Ken Potts officiating. Interment will be in Landmark Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Bowen-Donaldson Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Born on January 26, 1925 in Richmond County, Mr. Isdell was 83 years old and a retired carpenter. He also served in the U.S. Army for 18 years and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edwards Isdell; his mother, Clara Holley Isdell; and two brothers, Herbert Isdell and Carl Isdell. Survivors include his wife, Mary Isdell of Omega, Ga.; sons, James Edward Isdell of Omega, Herbert Isdell, Jr. of Omega, and Charles Joseph Isdell of Tifton, Ga.; daughter, Katherine Isdell Harrod of Warwick, Ga.; brothers, Allen Isdell of Augusta, Ga. and Charles Isdell of Augusta; sisters, Elizabeth Whitaker of Augusta and Ann Jahnke of Augusta; grandchildren, Kristen Feagin, Kendel Isdell, Hope Potter, Amber Bennett, Erin Isdell, Keith Isdell, Beth Wood, Heather Isdell, Rebecca Isdell, Amy Isdell; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Feagin, Victoria Feagin, Logan Feagin, Alayna Batten, Madison Potter, and Tommy McBride.
