Comments from our readers:

WILLIAM FENNOY AND Woody Merry have gotten a lot of bad press over their little tussle. Say what you will, they did what no one else could. They made Marion Williams look like a statesman by comparison.

HEADLINE: "Obama, McCain fine tune image for November." In clear English, this means that both are lying like crazy. So those are our choices: either a liar or a liar.

RAVE FOR MRS. DEVIVO at Gracewood Elementary. She did a great job in the mornings helping the students get out of their car safely.

I WANT TO THANK THE kind gentleman who took the time to change my teenage daughter's tire at the Bojangles' near Greenbrier High School.

TROLLEY, INDEED? So that the "homeless" and welfare mothers can entertain themselves? Remember, we are talking about downtown Augusta.

RANT: ARE TURN SIGNALS on cars considered a luxury?

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW why the trial date for Ben Harbin has been put off long enough for him to be re-elected, but a local fire supervisor has already been suspended from duty.

AMERICA IS JUST about bankrupt -- but that doesn't matter to Bush and Congress! Now they are sending $50 billion overseas to "combat AIDS." Another nail in America's fiscal coffin.

DO YOU RECALL WHEN the MCG extension was "not likely to happen in Athens?" Well, now it already has a CEO, a location, a curriculum, and big bucks to hire teachers and administrators. They plan to have buildings and classrooms in two years. All this is something that was not going to be taken out of Augusta, but politicians do exactly what they please. Or do they do what their financiers demand?

TO THE RANTER about the fireworks at Fort Gordon: They were free -- how can you gripe about anything that's free nowadays?
