Big Three anchors show blatant bias

  • Follow Letters

The so-called Big Three network news anchors who accompanied Barack Obama on his recent campaign trip abroad are nothing more than cheerleaders for the Democratic National Committee. Real news people are not biased. This is why fewer people are watching the evening news. It is ridiculous. Why can't those anchors just join a fan club?

Let's see...the Sausage Haus or 200K in Berlin? McC can't get 20 people in a 100 bed nursing home. There was a good OpEd over the weekend about how he is not inspiring and needs Karl Rove. Dems will win this time, but is he that desperate. Lime Jello shots for everyone !!

patriciathomas

200k unemployed socialists came out for a BO speech, but many more Germans stayed away. None of them will vote for Obama. Remember what happened to the last anti-American German leader? He was replaced with a conservative. It would take a lot of lime jello shooters to make a thinking person vote for BO, unless skin color is the deciding factor. Where the bias of the big three comes in (as per LTE) is in not reporting the concert before the speech and not reporting the many anti-Obama comments gleaned from the man on the street by the local media. Only one side of this campaign story was reported.

CH

Hey, DrGunby68, if McCain is running so poorly, why has a Rasmussen poll got them running neck and neck? Also, the last time I checked, the US president was just that, the president for the US, not Germany!

You want a president of the world, move to another country because most Americans couldn't care less if our president is liked by Europe, just as they don't care if their leaders are liked by us! Putting American interests first is true American patriotism!

I would rather read my news than listen to the nightly news from the big Three. There is more news out there in written form and at least I can filter out news biases with out having to spend thirty minutes doing it. No commercials either.

ldsmith1

The concert before the speech was free admission, if I'm not mistaken.

I4PUTT

Boy...this is shocking. I would never have dreamed that much of the media had political biases. Are you saying that everything we read in the paper or hear on the 6 oclock news is not true. Geezzz...I have always taken CNN & MSNBA at face value.

hobo

What does O'Bama think he is the president. He should have stayed home. He doesnt represent me and will certainly not get my vote,

FallingLeaves

I rarely watch the national news on any channel. It might as well be called "The Media Bias". I am more interested in local news since it seems we are at war with drug-traffickers, thieves and other criminals right here. Reading about what is going on and seeing if it matching up with what I am observing around me is a matter of survival.

brinehart7

A free rock concert brought out 200k people BO just spoke after the concert that is what the press did not tell you they would have you believe they came only to hear him speak. what a crock.....

HYPOCRITES 08

Haters are alive and well this morning. "It was only 200k, after a rock concert". Spin Masters at work. Next you will say that they were forced to stay. Then again you all did compare him to Hitler and Stalin.

sjgraci

WAHHHH! What a Whiner Brenda Manning is! The media didn't like the weeners and fudge McSame was serving. I don't blame them. Stick with Faux News where you are guaranteed to get served White Haus talking points.

patriciathomas

ffh, I never compared him with Hitler, but he does share philosophy with Stalin. Let's hope Obama doesn't ever have to deal with the temptations that too much power can offer. While the concert was definitely a hook, it was never mentioned. My point is that the msm only reported one side of the story. That's bias.

crackertroy

Ms. Manning, I used to be the media, I had to get out of that job because it was so biased. I couldn't live with my conscience. Even our precious Augusta Chronicle has its biases. I tell my journalism students that you have to read the news as if it is all biased to some degree and then work backwards until you can find consistencies that MUST be true. It's difficult and time-consuming but that is just what it takes. I just shake my head every time I hear CNN announce "fair and balanced: the most trusted source in news". Whatever.

imdstuf

So Sean Hannity says this last week and someone has to write a letter to the editor of the AC to repeat some talking point they heard on his show? Can someone be more brain washed? I guess it is easier to repeat something someone else says rather than thinking for oneself or gleeming from various media outlets and forming one's own opinion.

imdstuf

Crackertoy, I think CNN is fairly balanced. It falls between MSNBC (left leaning) and Fox News (right leaning). I actually like some of the things on Glenn Beck's show, but I guess he is does not always follow the R party line so he must not be a true conservative to Fox viewers.

lowellbrown

Poor old John McCain. Somebody pay him some attention to what he says. Please! I mean it! Have you heard some of that junk he's been saying?

mgroothand

We should remember that the three network anchors all have their bosses who they take orders from. These bosses directed the anchors to accompany the Dali Bama on his rock tour.

jack

Gummy, MCain got an over flowing crowd righ there in N Augusta. As for the 200k in Berlin, they had attended a huge concert of super stars and heard his speech because they were already in town. If you think they agree with his words, especially helping to fight terrorism, you are more stupid than I thought for one who claims to be educated.

jack

Lowellbrown, I have personally heard what McCain has had to say, and it ain't the hot air political rhetoric dthat Osama blows bubbles with when bathing. Only Katie Couric got in Osamas face while a McClatchey female fawned over him like a high school cheer leader with the star football player. Made me want to puke.

sjgraci

And the "liberal" Katie Couric edited Old Insane McSame's comments on the Anbar Awakening. Comments that proved he has no idea what he is talking about when he tried to claim Obama did not know the historty of the surge. No, it was McSame that didn't know and the "liberal media" left his remarks on the cutting room floor and spliced in an answer from a different question. Talk about media bias.

patriciathomas

urban legend sjgraci, moveon.org remains a poor source.

lowellbrown

Jack, I was basing my comment upon what I have heard McCain say on TV. It's a lot of defensive emptiness.

jack

Sigraci, Couric is the one who nailed Osama during his trip, throwing amost hard balls at him and not letting him off the hook. BTW, if McCAin's comments were left on the cutting room floor, how did you get them?

DrGunby68

CH, the polls are all over the place. I won't claim any superiorty in they and neither should you. They are the analytics that keep campaigns adjusting over time. They don't change minds much. The issue with most of the polls is that they are not properly adjusted for cell phone only usage, the influx of new voters and the newly registered voters that are being brought into the process by the Dems. We're up 10 pts near the generic Dem/Repub polls. Those are the most accurate. Obama 56/39.

jack

Lowellbrouwn, just what "defensive emptiness" do you refer to? I haven't heard it and I do watch McCain to see what he has to say (some of which I don't buy, (like Immigration). McCain is smart enough and exprienced enough with the military background that he knows that prematurely leaving Iraq would result in chos and Iranian intervention. Why ain't yu and your ilk not whining about the troops still in the Balkans when BJ Cliton said they woud be out of there in one year?

iletuknow

Taks a look around Augusta and you will see what Obama will bring.

lowellbrown

Jack, just what does "the hot air political rhetoric that (Obama) blows bubbles with when he's bathing" refer to? By the way, his name is Obama. If Katie Couric got in his face, more power to her. Obama won't whine about it. Maybe he's just not a card-carrying ilk. By the way, what's your opinion about the troops in the Balkans?

lowellbrown

iletuknow, your last post was a little vague. Could you be a bit more specific? Some of us Augusta denizens would like to know what you you mean.
