AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral Services for Mrs. Grace Mack Prouty, 79, of Pendleton Road, Augusta, GA, who entered into rest July 25, 2008, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. W. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park. Mrs. Prouty was a native of Hamlet, NC, having made Augusta her home for the past 60 years. She was an active member of Curtis Baptist Church, the Ruth Johnson Sunday School Class and grandmother of the late Melissa Peck. Mrs. Prouty was a devoted wife and a loving mother. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Henry Prouty; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Holly Prouty, Monroe, NC, Allen and Beverly Prouty and William Prouty, all of Augusta, Ralph and Julie Prouty, Elon, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat & Lee Cheesborough, Augusta; a sister, Mary Carriker, Rockingham, NC; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Michael Prouty, Matthew Prouty, Tyson Prouty, Allen Prouty, Steven Redlinger and David Shaw. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Odyssey Health Care. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening from 5 to 7.
