CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Rev. Wilch H. Cardwell, Sr., went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 21, 2008. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 62 years, Moease Caldwell of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Gisle Bryant (John) of Aiken, S.C., and Wilhelmina Burton of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Wilch H. Caldwell, Jr., of Charlotte, N.C., and George E. Caldwell (Rebecca) of Havelock, N.C.; two sisters, Lilea B. Allen of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Ruby Mitchell of Charlotte, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Faith Memorial Baptist Church. Pastor Dr. Dennis R. Williams will be officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the homegoing service will be at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scholarship Fund at Faith Memorial Baptist Church, 211 Lakewood Ave., Charlotte, NC 28208.
