Shame on writer for slamming McCain

  • Follow Letters

Responding to Joseph Diggs Sr.'s letter ("What's the story on McCain as a POW?" July 11): The cheap shot at John McCain and his POW days is as low as it gets!

Anyone with any intelligence can read the story of John McCain's POW experience. His story is well-documented by fellow prisoner-of-war comrades who have not criticized McCain over the way he conducted himself as a POW. Diggs either is purposely trying to mislead the public, for the benefit of Barack Obama, or he is just mean-spirited. Shame on Diggs!

As for Obama, Americans hopefully will see through all of the promises and see the real person: a man with a mouth, and two feet to put in it! He has no experience that qualifies him for the presidency, or, for that matter, the U.S. Senate. Yet, people such as Diggs will vote for Obama and lie for him because of his race, and nothing more!

John H. Capes, Augusta

Racist drivel....what

Racist drivel....what happened to his disabled wife and children when he got home? Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran...short tempered. Doesn't use a computer. Economic policy devised by the man that called us all whiners as the current recession is in our heads. Keating 5. Wife part owner in a beer/liquor firm fighting MADD at every turn. Can't draw a crowd of more than 100 senior citizens. Continued tax cuts for rich folk (trickle down=cascade upward). Surge=pay them not to shoot at us. Cusses like a drunk sailor. When was the last time he went to church...shall I go on?

Of course there are many that

Of course there are many that will vote for Obama because of his race, just as there are many that won't for the same reason. Many letters will be written and comments made in an effort to influence short attention span voters. Most will be nonsensical.(see previous post) It's the responsibility of the voter to be informed.

Retired, your brain seems to

Retired, your brain seems to have retired along with you. And Dr. Dumby seems to have gotten into the same halucinogens Charley Yonce did. Obama doesnt have to possess much to wow these puppets.

Atleast as puppets, there

Atleast as puppets, there will be a connection between the white house and its citizentry. Something that has not existed in the past 8 years. Give Powell credit, he knew to exit after he was fooled.

Neither one of the candidates

Neither one of the candidates are worth a hoot. McCain will simply continue in the fashion of George Bush and finish off our wonderful country and Obama is young, dumb, and inexperienced. Enough said.

I know Gumbo didn't just

I know Gumbo didn't just mention McCain's church affiliation when he is an Obama supporter. Someone, please tell me he didn't just say that.

Since Obama seems to be

Since Obama seems to be re-positioning his views in order to appeal to the voters he needs to be elected, why is it his most ardent supporters do not feel betrayed? He promised change, yet conducts his campaign like any other politician (with the sole exception the free pass he gets from all media). The audacity of him to raise hope, only to become just like every white man running for office.

I mentioned McCain's church

I mentioned McCain's church affliation and attendance b/c I know the good evangelicals think that it is important and I KNOW the Baptists (millions of y'all) disapprove of selling intoxicating drink.. I was just bringing up all of the so called unimportant stuff about McC as you'll do about Barack. Patty you made a little sense this morning. Get my pt. You know that I'm informed on my candidate and your candidate. Heck I need to go and read up on Barr. I know Nadar's positions and CMck is just....well just CMck.

The press has given Obama

The press has given Obama papal status which has led to his invincibility when backtracking on his policies. His new powers are Superman like in running for office because the only thing that could break this shield is Kryptonite and we all know that Kryptonite is not readily available today. I believe that Obama's Kryptonite is McCain that's the reason he won't debate him in a public forum. It's truly sad how the Liberal media has tried to slant this election but here we are in July and these 2 candidates are in a virtual dead heat by legitimate polls, not MSNBC's garbage poll. Come November the chosen one, Mr. November, will fall as the South rises up once more and wins this time.
