Ann Burris Smith (TRENTON, S.C.)

TRENTON, S.C. - Ann Burris Smith, 77, entered into rest on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Heartland Hospice in Augusta, GA after an extended illness. A native of Concord, NC, she was born May 21, 1931 to the late Lawrence Burris and Irene Burris. She worked at Dr. Ford's and Dr. Yost's offices at Medical College of Georgia as a dental assistant. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Trenton, SC. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James N. Smith. Family members include 3 children, Steve Smith (Becky) of Charlotte, NC, Jan Hardin (Wayne) of North Augusta, SC, and David Smith (Reesa) of Waynesboro, GA; sister, Frances Tesh of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Frances Ann and Melissa. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Trenton, SC. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1365 Interstate Pkwy, Augusta, GA 30909.
