GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Levy Mae Newman, 72, wife of the late Elmer Newman, entered into rest Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Trinity Hospital, Augusta, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2008, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Reverend Eddie L. Renew officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Newman was born in Jefferson County to the late George S. and Lessie Peoples Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of Dearing Full Gospel Church. Survivors include one brother, Chesley (Ann) Thompson, Augusta; two sisters, Barbara Ann Riley, Lincolnton and Mary Staulcup, of Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Testi, Judson Shirey, Timothy Calhoun, Gene Shirey, Dean Bales and J.B. Shirey.
