AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Alan Leroy Hevner, 67, loving husband of forty eight years to Mrs. Connie L. Hevner, of Cadden Rd., entered into rest Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon. A memorial service will be held from the Richmond Masonic Lodge # 412, 4391 Saxon Drive Hephzibah, GA, on Saturday, July 19, at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Bob Matthews officiating. Mr. Hevner, a son of the late Ada Calvert Hevner Gendron, was a native of Masontown, WVA. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and retired as a Service Technician from Taylor Freezer Sales. He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #412, Hephzibah, GA and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Hevner was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Hyatt. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hevner is survived by his father, Paul Leo Hevner of Sandusky, Ohio; a son, Jeffrey Alan Hevner, of Augusta; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Cameron Shiver of Martinez, Donna and Bruce Koota of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Terri Guy of Hephzibah; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Bertha Hevner of Wilmington, NC and Paul and Diane Hevner of Morgantown, WVA; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Jim Smith of Morgantown, WVA; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Nell and Tony Williamson, Blythe, GA and Pauline Brown of Augusta; grandchildren, Heather and Austin Shiver, Jennifer Hyatt, and Rachel and Jordan Koota; great grandchild, Jayquan Hyatt.
