HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mrs. Pamela Hiett, 50, beloved wife of Terrence E. Hiett, of Cromwell Ct., entered into rest, July 10, 2008, at Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, Friday, July 18, at 3:00 PM, with Father Rafael Estrada and Pastor Bob Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Hiett was known locally as the beloved 'cake lady.' She was a prayer warrior for the Richmond County Sheriff's Department and often advised them, 'Take care and don't forget to duck!' Mrs. Hiett was a substitute teacher for the Richmond County Board of Education for ten years. She was known to most of her students as 'Miss Thomas.' She was a veteran of the United States Army serving honorably from 1976 to 1979. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a staunch defender of the Roman Catholic Church. She devoted her life to serving others. Her special ministry was for the abused and downtrodden. For those who had no voice, she became a voice for them, even if they didn't want one. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hiett is survived by her daughter, Brianna Thomas, her mother, Helen Svenson of Philadelphia, PA; aunt and uncle, John and Patricia Trevi; sisters Celeste, Patricia, and Theresa; brothers Stephen, James and David. She was preceded in death by her father Carl Svenson and sister Kathryn.
