EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest on July 15, 2008 at Westwood Nursing Center, Evans, Ga., Mr. Harry Leon Schmitt, husband of the late Wanda E. Schmitt of Martinez, Ga. Mr. Schmitt was retired from the US Army, he served in Korea, where he received the Purple Heart and in Vietnam. He was a member of Hephzibah Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by son, Harry Schmitt, Jr. Funeral services will be held in the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. with Military Chaplain officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Full Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside and Masonic service will be held at the graveside. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the funeral home between the hours of 6 and 8 pm. Survivors: two sons, Chris and wife, Janet Schmitt, Mike and wife, Becky Schmitt; two daughters, Sandy Cooper, Patricia Potter; one brother, Wendell Schmitt; one sister, Joyce; six grandchildren, Timmy, Jessie, Nick, Ashley, Norman Jr., and Amanda; six great-grandchildren.
