Gary Perry: Groove co-owner said he will sign an agreement this morning to play the team's home games at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Augusta State officials and the owners of the Augusta Groove will meet this morning to sign an agreement that will make Christenberry Fieldhouse the home court for the team's inaugural season.

"It's exactly what we wanted," Groove co-owner Gary Perry said. "It worked out perfect for us."

Perry said he'd discuss details of the agreement at a 10 a.m. news conference at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The professional men's basketball team, the first in Augusta since 1995, will share the university's facilities with the men's and women's basketball teams.

The Groove, a member of the Premier Basketball League, are slated to begin their season in January. Their 20-game schedule will run through March. Any postseason games would be played in April.
