EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Carolyn Laywell Vernon, 55, beloved wife of Randy Vernon of Lisa Ct, entered into rest on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at University Hospital. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Mrs. Vernon was born in North Carolina and lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was previously employed by University Surgical Associates and The Center for Endodontic Care. She was extremely compassionate in caring for patients. In addition to her husband of 25 years, Mrs. Vernon is survived by sons and daughters in law, David and Kim Whitfield, Travis and Alisa Vernon, and Evan Vernon; grandchildren, Kalie Whitfield, Chase Whitfield, and Abby Vernon; and brother Ray Laywell, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Madonna Toby Laywell.
