- Dave Olson, the executive vice president of Washington Savannah River Co.'s Liquid Waste Operations, has been named Executive of the Year by the Savannah River chapter of the National Management Association for achievements in leadership excellence.

- Stuart MacVean, the manager of Washington Savannah River Co.'s Material Disposition organization, has been named Manager of the Year by the Savannah River chapter of the National Management Association for achievements in leadership excellence.

- Dr. Mahmood S. Mozaffari, a professor in the Medical College of Georgia Department of Oral Biology, has been appointed interim chairman of the department by the dean of the School of Dentistry.

- Dr. Shirley A. Quarles, interim chairwoman of the Department of Physiological and Technological Nursing in the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing, has been named a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.

- Maria Vaill, a professional realtor, has received the company-wide Agent of the Month award for the second month in a row from Century 21 Larry Miller Realty for achievements in overall listing, sales, and customer satisfaction performance in May 2008.

- Eladio DeLeon Jr., the chairman of the Department of Orthodontics in the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, has been selected to represent the Southern Association of Orthodontists as a director of the American Board of Orthodontics.

- Larry and Rosemary Lynn, the owners of Allegra Print & Imaging in Martinez, have been honored with the Silver Star Award by Allegra Network for their record-breaking sales growth in 2007. The pair also earned an additional award for operational excellence.
