WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. James Oliver Smith, Sr. age 74, of Ansley Road died Saturday July 12, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Long Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Smith will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Mr. Smith a native of Glascock County, GA was the son of the late Mr. Herman and Opal Chalker Smith and had been a Warren County resident since 1947. He was a farmer and a member of the Warren County Cattlemans Assoc., the Warren County Farm Beurau, and Long Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Smith Lawrence, Warrenton, GA, three sons, James Oliver (Leah) Smith, Jr. Jacksonville, FL, John Wayne Smith, Augusta, GA, and Jeffery Smith, Warrenton, GA, two sisters, Joyce (Derwin) Adkins, Young Harris, GA, and Velma ( Billy) Freeman, Dallas, GA, one brother, Thomas (Agnes) Smith, Washington, GA, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Oliver Smith, Jeff Smith, Chris Gilmer Chad Gilmer, Travis Walker, Billy Freeman, Derwin Adkins, Donald Brewer, and Mark Gray The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 P.
