SWAINSBORO, Ga. - Durden- Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of John W. "Bill" Hammock Jr., age 53 of Swainsboro, GA who died Friday, July 11, 2008, at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX after an extended illness. Funeral services are Tuesday, July 15, 20008 at 11 A.M. in Emanuel Christian Ministries with the Rev. Bunny Hudson Officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Shady Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home Monday, July 14, 2008 from 6-8 P.M. Pallbearers are Randy Fagler, Jamey Oglesby, Steve Johnson, Keith Howard, Thomas Henry, Lonnie Smith, Keith Thompson, and Clay Hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Deere Employees, FSA Office Employees, UPS Employees, Emanuel Peanut and Grain Mill Employees, Keith and Kathy Claxton, Wes and Amy Way, Harrison Smith, Bobby Claxton, Edward Claxton, John Claxton, Larry Claxton, Lynn Edenfield, Frank Ellis, John George Claxton and Ronnie Cameron Mickey Garnto, Swainsboro High School Football Piers. Mr. Hammock was a native of Emanuel County, Co-Owner of Emanuel Peanut & Grain Mill and Cooter Creek Farms and also attended Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton. He was retired form UPS, a farmer, a member of Mt Shady Baptist Church and attended Emanuel Christian Ministries. He was preceded in death by his parents John W & Johnnie Bell Sullivan Hammock and his brother Harold Hammock. Survivors include: His Wife: Lisa Hammock of Swainsboro, GA. One Daughter: Maria Holland of Reidsville, GA. One Son: Eric Hammock of Swainsboro, GA. One Sister and Brother-In-Law: Bunny and Romona Hammock Hudson of Swainsboro, GA. Two Grandchildren: Tucker Holland of Reidsville, GA. and Molly Hammock of Swainsboro, GA.
