Please, I can tell who to vote for on my own thanks. I am not totally dependent on just one political party, I would not be independent if I were as devoted to just one party.
I understand that some local Republicans are considering crossing over in the primary election to vote for Democratic state Sen. Ed Tarver in his contest with Marion Williams. While I wholeheartedly agree that Mr. Tarver is the better candidate, it is entirely inappropriate for Republicans to abandon their team to help out a member of the opposition at this crucial hour.
Both the 10th and 12th U.S. House Districts have contested Republican primaries, and it is imperative that Barry Fleming and John Stone win these races. Both need the vote of every Republican in the CSRA to win, and Republicans should not desert them.
I encourage you to vote Republican. Stay with the team, and let's push the ball over the goal line together!

Mr Norris, some people disagree with you. Thanks for your opinion anyway.
Paul Broun wouldn't be here if Democrats hadn't crossed over to vote for him.
Just another reason why I think primary elections should allow us to vote for the candidate of our choice from either party for each office if we wish. The computers can be programed not to allow more than one candidate for each office to be voted, regardless of which party they are affiliated with. I agree that Tarver needs to win over Williams, and I agree with your choice of Stone for the 12th district, but strongly disagree with your choice of Fleming for the 10th! I wonder, which district are you registered and voting in?
I have no problem with no problem with crossing party lines to vote for the candidate of your choice, just have a ballot with all candidates from all parties listed, but don't allow more than one candidate for each office to be voted for.
anyTHING but williams
Republicans should vote in their own party primary because they have a man on the ballot for the Senate District 22 race. Why do you think he qualified? Because no one else did. Every body should be glad that he stepped up to the plate to make sure that everybody's vote will count come November. Remember that Obama will be the Democratic candidate for President, but the State of Georgia legislature is RED. Candidates should have to compete and that includes mellow Democrat incumbents.
political parties sponsor their own primaries - its govt's role to conduct them so equality & fairness reign,,, while crossover voting's illegal in some states, i like it.
Crossover voting is as American as apple pie. Norris is in Martinez and he's worried about Tarver? What's up with that?
Oh yes, and Mr. Norris completely left out the landslide of Republicans who are planning to cross over and vote for Marion Williams in the 22nd District as part of Operation CS (common sense). It could make all the difference. Besides, if they cross over and ask for a Democratic ballot, they also get a chance to have a say in the Tax Commissioner race.
Norris is as accurate a Political advisor as he is a Financial Advisor. Sorry Tommy but people need to vote for the BEST. Even I as a conservative think Sen Tarver is light years beyond Williams or the Pseudo Republican candidate in the 22nd.
Sen. Tarver works for the Chronicle's law firm. You get what you know about Tarver from the Chronicle. Charles Walker is in jail. This is why Tarver has been a Senator for three years. Tarver will not represent the District any better than he has because it is a Republican majority Legislature. Augusta has to live with the Coliseum Authority for another full year because of Ed Tarver. Where are the light years?
I will leave it to the Democrats to decide if they want Marion Williams .
If there is no republican running for a particular office, I should be allowed to vote for the dumb-ocrat of my choice for that office and vote for the republicans of my choice for other offices where there are republicans running. That is why I advocate a mixed ballot for the primaries. I am basically a conservative, but I still don't like the parties controlling the primaries.
little lamb martinez has parts that are in west augusta. Their are several people who have a 30907 zip code that have richmond licensed plates. So tarver in office would affect him.
Sorry, Hephzibah, those people in Richmond County who have 30907 zip code are in Ga. Senate district 23 (J.B. Powell), not district 22.
Tarver is far the best man for the Legislature instead of the baffoon Williams.
Little Lamb: The poster is 'hepzibah' not 'hephzibah' - apparently doesn't know any more about where he/she lives than where anyone else lives.
