AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, July 9, 2008, Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Entwistle, 94, wife of Norman B. Entwistle. Mrs. Entwistle was a native of St. Louis, Missouri and had resided in Augusta the past 29 years. She was a homemaker and a member of North Augusta Bible Chapel. She and her first husband were commended by Bethany Chapel in Yonkers, NY in 1942, to full time Christian work. They planted a church in Greenville, SC, held Bible Classes in public schools, started a Christian camp, traveled all over the country having VBS and opened their home to all who needed a place to stay. Family members in addition to her husband include her son: Chaplain Ken Gross and wife Pat of Augusta; grandchildren: Ken Gross, Jr. and wife Joanna of Fredericksburg, VA, Charlene Boudet of Martinez; sister: Claire Harris of Park of the Palms, FL and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Entwistle was preceded in death by her first husband: Ernest Gross; her son: Ronald Edward Gross and great-grandson: Ronald Jackson Gross. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Bethany Chapel, 401 Milledge Rd., with Chaplain Ken Gross and Dr. Jon Reimer officiating. Pallbearers will be Ted Stephens, Gene Hunt, Ben Timmerman, Gene Sawyer, Gerald Tice and Jerry Elliott. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
