AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Clifford "Abe" Abramson age 61, entered into rest at the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta, GA on June 18, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Pinetucky Gun Club in Augusta. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on September 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with full military honors. Survivors include: his loving companion, Paige O'Donnell; sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest Griffin, Robin and Karen Shellito, Robert and Nila Shellito; and one daughter, Michelle Edelmann; grandchildren, Ben & Leigh Hughes, Brock and Jessica Hughes, Taylor Shellito, Brittany James, Brendan & Ashley Lopez; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Parker, Isaiah, and Camin Hughes. Abe was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Frank Abramson, and is survived by sisters, Mary Joy Smith and Jane Slater, brother-in-law, Rick, and nieces Amber Lusignan and Rachel Slater. Abe served in the U.S. Army, and was a decorated Vietnam War veteran. For his service he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars with a Ribbon of Valor and 3 Purple Hearts. Abe was a longtime member of Pinetucky Gun Club where he was a mentor and a teacher of the sport he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing and sport shooting. Abe was a valued part of a large group of family and friends. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Platts Funeral Home, 337 N.
