The White Linen on the River event will recognize several people Friday for their contributions to Augusta.
"We are going to honor people from the community for what they do in and for our community," said Jonavon Stephens, president of Aquarius Vision, a marketing and event-planning company.
Over the past five years, the event has recognized actors, athletes, principals, people in media and business owners.
This year's honorees are: State Court Judge David Watkins; State Court Solicitor Harold Jones; professional basketball player Ernesia Wideman; juvenile court Judge Willie Saunders; HIV awareness advocate Mya Brown; actor Larry Evans; Harold Wright, owner of Wright One Paint & Body; and family dentist Dr. Varnell Gaines.
The honorees will be given Aquarius Vision Outstanding Achievement Awards.
"I invite their loved one or close friends to speak about how proud they are of the recipient," Mr. Stephens said. "They get to hear it from someone they are around every day."
In addition to the awards, there will be food, dancing and a drawing for a Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid sponsored by Wadell & Reed Financial Advisors.
