Phyllis Monica Uselton (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Phyllis Monica Rice Uselton, 83, wife of the late Russell W. Uselton died Monday, July 7, 2008. Mrs. Uselton was a native of Devon, England. During WWII she met and married Russell, her husband of 37 years. She lived in Augusta for the past 46 years. She was a retired medical stenographer. Mrs. Uselton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta where she was a member of the Benevolence Committee, the Women's Missionary Union, the pager/prayer ministry and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a Pink Lady at Trinity Hospital and associated with the Women's Prison Ministry at the local women's prisons for the last 12 years. Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Gregory Rowell of Lenoir City, TN, Billie and Gary Abbott, Hawkinsville, GA, Mary and Guy Able, Martinez, GA, Carolyn and Philip Ramp, Augusta, GA; grandsons: Gregory T. Rowell, and wife, Valerie, Martinez, GA, William (Bill) R. Westbrook and wife, Jennie, North Augusta, SC, Gary Louis Abbott, Jr., and wife Jana, Macon, GA, Russell W. Abbott, and wife Tiffany, Savannah, GA, Lyn F. Ramp and wife, Amber, of Evans, GA and Douglas A. Ramp of Augusta, GA; granddaughters: Monica Rowell Rawlins, and husband James, MI, Marie Westbrook Grmek and husband Marty, OH and 10 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott and Rev. Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Uselton's six grandsons. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
