LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Leslie LeRoy Goddard passed away Saturday, July 5th, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Joan Goddard; sons, Gregory E. Goddard (Kelly), Geoffrey C. Goddard (Debbie), Glenn C. Goddard (Nancy); and daughters, Linda L. Hyken (Mark), Cheryl A. Palmer (Keith); stepson, Keith Stockmar (Pam); and stepdaugher, Maryann Stockmar (Peter); nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four step grandchildren with one step greatgrandchild. Leslie was born in Waltham, Mass. but spent the last 20 years in Lincolnton, Georgia. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. Les belonged to the Masons and the American Legion 194. He was an ordained minister. He was a member of the American Radio Relay league. He belonged to the Independent Order of the Oddfellows. He was an experienced musician and magician and performed at local nursing homes and senior citizen centers. Services will be Thursday, July 10th at Morningside Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Ga. at 2 p.m. There will be a graveside prayer at County Line Baptist Church in Philomath, Ga. following the memorial service.
