AUGUSTA, Ga. - Terry Allen Newton, 42, entered into rest Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the home of his mother. He is preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Newton. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Coleman and Pastor Edward Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Tommy Harris, Bradley Taylor, Jason Newton, Brad Newton, Chad Newton and Brian Myers will serve as active pallbearers. Mr. Newton had lived in Augusta all his life and was employed for several years by Cecil Barnes as a bingo caller. He was a loving son, brother and friend and had a wonderful personality. He will be missed greatly by his large family and many friends. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Davis; companion, Steve Bisso, Grovetown; sisters, Joann Briggs, Augusta, Lounetta Odell, Jackson, SC, Betty Moss, Joyce Estabrook, Doris Newton, Brenda Doolittle, Darlene Woods, all of Augusta, Elaine Myers, Jackson, SC, Teresa Garland, Grovetown; brothers, Edward Newton, Waynesboro, GA., Larry Newton, Gary Newton, Alvin Newton, all of Augusta and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
