RICHMOND, Va. - Funeral service for Mrs. Eileen S. Ridge will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church, with Reverend Ken McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken is assisting the Ridge family. Eileen S. Ridge, 88, widow of Thomas S. Ridge, died peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, VA. Mrs. Ridge lived in Aiken, SC from 1953 until 1999. She was the choir director at First Christian Church, president of the Wildwood Garden Club, an accredited landscape design critic of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, and costume designer for Crosby School of Dance for 30 years. Since 1999, she has lived in Richmond, VA, and has traveled extensively, and enjoyed many close friendships. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Michael T. and Gerri T. Ridge of Bryson City, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Gerry R. and Ronald C. Smith of Richmond, VA; grand-daughters, Jessica Rinaman and her husband, Shaun Rinaman of North Augusta, SC, and Rhonda S.
