JACKSON, S.C. - A Memorial Service for David Robert Maffett will be held Monday July 7, 2008, 2pm at Lumpkin Hall at First Baptist Church, Jackson SC. South Carolina Cremation and Burial Society of Graniteville, SC is assisting the family. Mr. Maffett, 70, of Jackson, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday June 28, 2008. He was the youngest of eight children born in Rochester, NY to the late Lester Richard Maffett and Harriette Sofield Sweet Maffett. David retired in 2000 as a tradesman & maintenance technician for the University of Georgia Ecology Lab at the Savannah River Site. David was the best father his son or daughter could ask for. A special thank you to Mike Hess, Ginger Lucero, Cheryl Lynn Mounce and the Community of Jackson, SC for their care, friendship and support. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by a sister, Lois Jacques, and a brother, Lt. Col. Charles Maffett. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Maffett, Rochester, NY, and his son Jeffrey (Shelley) Maffett, Kingsland, GA, their mother; Carol Maffett, Rochester, NY, four grandchildren; Zachary, Jacob, Nicholas and Claire Maffett all of Kingsland, GA, one sister; Dora Terena, Rochester NY, three brothers; Paxton (Gail) Maffett, Victor, NY, Paul (Jenny) Maffett Rochester, NY and James( Jackie) Maffett , Englewood, FL, and several nieces and nephews Go to southcarolinacremation.com to leave a message for the Maffett family.
