AUGUSTA, Ga. - Michael Casey Leonard, 28, died on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Trinity Hospice from complications of injuries he sustained in a four-wheeler accident Memorial Day, 2007. Casey is survived by his wife, Michelle and his two children: daughter, Gabriella Lee Leonard and son, Aidan Trace Leonard of Augusta. Additional survivors include his mother, Gail Evans Patty and stepfather, George A. Patty of Augusta; his father, Michael Bernard Leonard of Augusta; sister, Lisa McGlaun of Henderson, Nevada; stepbrother: Brian Patty (Jennifer) and stepsister, Susan Patty, all of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Laurence; his maternal grandparents, James C. and Gailya W. Evans, and his paternal grandparents, H.B. Leonard, Jr. and June S. Leonard. Casey is also survived by numerous and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Casey was a well-known disk jockey who played numerous local popular venues. He also performed in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Columbia. He loved his music, had developed a unique style, and had a devoted following wherever he performed. The family wishes to thank Casey's' loving caregiver Jannie Zellars. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Andy Menger officiating. Pallbearers will be Graham House, Paul Leonard, Brian Brittingham, Charles Cheeks, Adam Carter, Brent Jewett, Jeff Dow and Scott Mann. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
