MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, June 29, 2008. Mr. James E. Curry Jr., of Hampstead Place, Martinez, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1714 Olive Road, with Reverend Clarence Moore officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Mr. Curry was a native of Augusta, he received his former education from the Richmond County Public School System and graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School Class of 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country from 1965-1968. Mr. Curry was a furniture refinisher and repairer. Mr. Curry was a faithfully member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, he sang with the Sarah Frazier Choir, the Essie M. McIntryre Male Chorus, he also served on the Trustee Ministry. Survivors are a loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Juanita Curry; two sons, Michael Edward (Katrina) Curry, Rochester Hills, MI and Timothy Darnell Curry, Augusta; grandchildren, Deon, Ashley, Michael Jr. and Crysten; mother, Henrietta M. Curry, Augusta; four sisters, Mary E. Williams, Patricia A. (James) Johnson, Minnie L. (Bobby) West and Antionette C. (Charlie) Thomas, all of Augusta; one brother, Willie Eugene Curry, Augusta; mother-in-law, Julia M. Weeks, Anniston, AL; aunts, Nancy C. Childs, Minnie L. Curry, Edith McCorkle, Margie (John) Ashley and Hattie Ann Johnson, all of Augusta; one uncle, Walter Martin McCorkle, Augusta; one brother-in-law, Andrew (Helen) Weeks, III, Oxford, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
