STATESVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Mary Brantley Hudson, 89, entered into rest Friday, June 20, 2008 in Statesville, NC. Mrs. Hudson was born in Washington County Georgia on October 14, 1918 to Bud and Lois Brantley and moved to Augusta in 1942. She worked for the Augusta Arsenal and retired from Ruben's Department Store. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Lawrence Hudson, and her son, Denny Hudson. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Reese (Roland) of Eagle, Colorado; two sons: Phil Hudson of Arlington, Texas and Eddie Hudson (Barbara) of Jupiter, Florida and Statesville, NC; grandchildren: Russell, Randy and Rodney Reese, Amy Wing, Lisa Brunt, Gina Campbell, Perry Hudson, Ashley Alexander, Holley Hudson, Taylor Hudson, Ryan Hudson and Jill Tatum; great grandchildren: Rachael, Wesley and Chloe Reese, Morgan and Harrison Wing, Emily Irwin, Lindsey and Steve Brunt, Dylan and Kelsi Hudson, and Sarah, Mary Hudson Alexander and Caroline Alexander, and Shelby Tatum; and one sister: Mrs. Peggy Gaulke of Augusta. Funeral services will be conducted in the Mausoleum at Westover Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 with Rev. Dane Wagner officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2367 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30909.
