EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Allie McNaughton Gray, Jr., 82, entered into rest on Friday June 20, 2008 at University Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday June 23, 2008 at Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Robert Rayner officiating. Mr. Gray was a member of Warren Baptist Church since 1955 where he served as a deacon. He was a 33 degree Mason. Mr. Gray was a veteran of WWII and was a charter member of American Legion Post 192. He was the former director on the board of GA State Bank. Mr. Gray also served on the Tax Assessor Board for Columbia County and was the former director of the Columbia County Fish & Game Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years; Faye Gray of Evans, one son; Al Gray of Lincolnton, GA, two daughters; Arlain Robertson and husband Robbie of Evans, Leta Jones and husband Robbie of Evans, one brother; Johnny Gray of Evans, one sister; Elna Spires of Augusta, four grandchildren; Vince Robertson, Alayna Robertson, Daniel Jones, and Keri Jones. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday June 22, 2008 at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Road.
