AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Charlie Norwood Veterans Adminstration Medical Center, Downtown Division, Mr. Willie Cofer, 78, of 11th Street. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Carpentersville Baptist Church, 415 Carpentersville Road, North Augusta, South Carolina with Pastor Herman Bing officiating and Pastor Adolph Hollins presiding. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cofer was a United States Army veteran and a noted upholsterer in the CSRA. He was a member of Carpentersville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Cofer was a past Worshipful Master of the F&AA Yorkrite Masons. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Cofer; four sons, Willie (Sandra) Cofer, Maurice (Monica) Cofer, Reginald (Cheryl) Cofer and Garen (Angela) Cofer; one daughter, Amy C. Pryor; one son-in-law, Prince Greene, all of Augusta; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth Burton and Helen (Leroy) Stokes, of Augusta, Shirley (Henry) Jones, North Augusta, SC and Dorothy Thomas, Passaic, NJ; one brother, Jimmy (Janet) Cofer, North Augusta, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
