GERMANTOWN, Md. - Elizabeth Naomi 'Betty' Waks , 76, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at the National Lutheran Home in Rockville, Maryland. She was a native of Columbia County, Georgia; Daughter of the late Walker Hawes and Agnes Reid of Martinez; Beloved wife of N. Nelson Waks; Mother of James Waks of Harlem, GA, Nancy Victor of Arlington, VA, Elaine (Duane) Turnbull of Hedgesville, WV, Larry (Terry) Waks of Harlem, GA and Melissa Waks of Germantown, MD; She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sybil (George) Inglett; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is pre-deceased by a sister, Ann Seigler and a brother, Walker Hawes Reid Jr. Funeral procession will proceed from Starling Funeral Home at 1:30pm on Monday, June 23, 2008. Graveside services will be at 2pm at Bellevue Memorial Gardens and will be conducted by Pastor Keith Boggs of Old Union Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Tim and Johnny Rockefeller, and Jesse, Nathan, Orrin and Nelson Waks. Family and friends may call at the home of Larry and Terry Waks in Harlem.
