All the listed events are open to the public, although membership in some organizations may be required.

MONDAY-FRIDAY: Phinizy Swamp Nature Park will hold an Eco-Camp and Swamp Adventure for rising fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders. Programs include animal habitats, wetlands issues, water quality and more. Cost is $125 for academy members and $150 for nonmembers. Call (706) 828-2109 to register.

TUESDAY: The Sierra Club's Savannah River group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Walton Way Extension. Dr. Hauke Busch of Augusta State University will present a program, "Sustainability, Global Warming, and Humanity." The meeting is open to the public. THURSDAY: Learn about the endangered Savannah River Spider Lilies during a program at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. ASU professor Donna Wear will lecture. The Pfizer Pavilion will be open at 6 p.m. for those who would like to bring a picnic dinner. The program will begin at 7. A $3 donation per family is suggested. SATURDAY: A seven-hour boating safety course will be held at Thurmond Dam Visitors Center from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Completion of the course satisfies both Georgia and South Carolina state requirements and most boat insurance companies give a discount for completion of this course. Class fee is $35 for an individual and $50 for an entire family. Call (864) 391-2170 for more details.

SATURDAY: An NRA First Step Pistol Orientation class will be held at 10 a.m. at Carolina Star Gun and Hunt Club, Windsor, S.C. This class is for beginner pistol shooters. JUNE 22: Join Ed Belinski from 6-8 a.m. on a sunrise excursion through Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. The Sunrise Phinizy Photo Excursion is part of the Augusta Photography Festival. It begins in Phinizy Swamp Nature Park's Pfizer Pavilion and costs $10. Register at www.augustaphoto festival.org or call the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art at (706) 722-5495.

JUNE 22: An ATA Registered Trap Shoot will be held at The Carolina Star Gun and Hunt Club. Shooting will start at 10 a.m. Contact Peggy Crockett at (803) 640-0878 or by e-mail at carolinak80@aol.com for information and registration.

JUNE 22: A NRA Marksman-ship program will be offered at 1:30 and 3 p.m. at Carolina Star Gun and Hunt Club. This is a skill development program for both new and experienced shooters. The range fee is $15. Call (803) 641-1742 for details.

JUNE 23-27: Augusta Junior Rowing Team will offer a beginner rowing camp for anyone 12-18 who can swim. No experience is needed and all fitness levels are welcome. Camp location is The Boathouse at 101 Riverfront Drive, Augusta. Cost is $85. July 14-18: The Kiokee District Cub Scout Day Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. at Wildwood Park. This Cub Scout Day Camp is an accredited, five-day program for Tiger Cubs and their Adult Partners, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts. The Day Camp fee is $90. Camp fees include a T-shirt, patch, water bottle. JULY 19: Augusta-Aiken Audubon will participate in the annual North American Butterfly Count. This all-day count is an effort to find as many butterflies as possible in a 15-mile diameter circle, including both sides of the Savannah River. Meet Lois Stacey, (803) 215-1594), at 9 a.m. at the Phinizy Swamp parking lot or Paul Koehler, (803) 471-0291, at 9 a.m. at the Silver Bluff Audubon visitor center.
