HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Entered into rest Saturday, June 14, 2008, at his residence, Mr. Lonnie Edward (Ed) Blackwell, 65, husband of Anita Morgan Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell was a native and life long resident of the Augusta area. He was a US Navy Veteran, firefighter and a truck driver. Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Troy Buchanan of Augusta, Michelle Blackwell of Augusta, Brandi Blackburn and husband Brooks of Augusta, Ryan Blackwell and wife Tamra of Hephzibah; sisters: Judy Blackwell of Hephzibah, Annette Combs of Hephzibah; mother: Jessie Bell Blackwell of Hephzibah; grandchildren: Brent Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan, Ashleigh Blackwell, Benjamin Blackburn and Lilly Blackburn. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 16, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son and the family will receive friends following the service until 7:00 P.M.
