AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Jeanette Sue Birge Manning, 78, wife of Rev. C. Don Manning, D.D., entered into rest on June 13, 2008 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2008 at First Christian Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Manning was a Biblical Lecturer and Scholar. She attended Lambuth College, Jackson, TN, Phillips University, Enid, OK, University of Texas, El Paso, TX and Brenau Univeristy, Gainsville, GA. She was also an accomplished musician, pianist, organist and choir director. Mrs. Manning was Vice-President of the Georgia Regional-State Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Sue was a Sunday School Teacher and Christian Women's Fellowship Leader. Mrs. Manning possessed an extraordinary loyalty and dedication as a Pastor's Wife. Additional survivors include three sons, Terry Manning and wife Sherrie of Nassau, Bahamas, Carl Gene Manning of Augusta, GA, Kevin Birge Manning and wife Kathy of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Barbara Austin and husband Bobby of Jackson, TN; and five grandchildren, Kari, Michael, Melissa, Christopher and Lucas.
